El Calafate (days 10-13)
2.761 km from Buenos Aires
Travel agencies: Huellas del Sur
You can reach the city by flying to the city airport, by bus or car (follow the Ruta 40)
When you arrive in the city you can’t avoid to say a big WOW: you’ll be in front of one of the biggest lakes of South America (Argentino Lake)… and it’s really impressive! I mean, I grew up in a town 70% surrounded by the sea. And now I live in Switzerland where you cann0t really miss lakes, but i had never seen such a big lake, so colourful and quiet.
El Calafate is a pretty town with the usual main road with nice little houses and lots of bar, restaurants and tourist shops.
Ushuaia (days 6-9)
2.370 km from Buenos Aires
Travel agencies: Canal fun
If there’s a place that has always tickled my curiosity, it is Ushuaia – the end of the world
How does it feel knowing that in just 2 sailing days (depending on the weather conditions) you can be at the South Pole? And what about looking at the horizon and realizing that behind the mountain there will only be Antarctic ice?
That’s what you’re going to experience once in Ushuaia.
And finally it came!
Since our early days together, my husband and I have had a tradition to go to Cervinia (Valle d’Aosta-IT) at the end of October for the start of the winter season.
The season arrived late this year due to a marriage, a broken ankle and a honey moon. But in the end it finally came!
Friday Afternoon, after packing snowboard equipment and about 3 hours by car, we were there! A full weekend at one of my favourite places for short snowboarding breaks.
